Elder Rebecca DeLoach
Our pastor was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from the Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1976. Rebecca sang in the All-City Choir and played clarinet in the All-City Orchestra. She accepted the Lord at an early age and served Him from an early childhood. Rebecca accepted her call to the ministry in 1979 and was ordained an Elder by the United Holy Church.
A charter member of Bible Union Fellowship Church, Rebecca wore many hats and worked untiringly in several capacities in the church. She served as one of the Choir Directors; an awesome soloist, she sang on all of the adult choirs and performed holiday solos. Rebecca also assisted with the church finances, worked on the Church Planning Committee & Hospitality Committee, Prison Ministry and coordinated the Vacation Bible School. In the past, she taught Sunday School, served on the Usher Board, started and directed the Rosebud Children’s Choir, drove the church van, served as President of the Youth Choir, and anything else her hands could find to do to serve the Lord.
In August 2005, God called her father and pastor, Bishop John W. Lewis home to his eternal rest. After completing a year as interim pastor, in October 2006, Elder Rebecca DeLoach was installed as the pastor of Bible Union Fellowship Church. She endeavors to carry on the legacy of her father and bring Bible Union Fellowship Church into a new realm of glory.
Elder Rebecca DeLoach received her certificate in Pastoral Studies from the Eastern Seminary of Christian Ministries. She is happily married to Benjamin Jay DeLoach since 1979. They have six children: Benjamin, Leah, Naomi (Esdene), LaToya (Charles), Nicholas (Melissa), and Nicole; and three grandchildren, Sydney, Marianna and Amos.
